Day 1
Delhi to Leh (1 hour of flight) Delhi to Ladakh flight is one of the most beautiful flights as it goes over the western Himalaya range over the majestic peaks and lends into the heart of Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh. Arrival at Leh airport, to be received by Frozen Himalayan team and transferred to the homestay. Check in to the hotel for a complete day of rest wherein welcome tea and coffee will be served by your host. In the evening we will do the briefing about your frozen river for the next one week. Overnight in a hotel leh.
Day 3
BakulaBawo - TipkyeakBawo – 6hour’s average walking. Leave camp by about 8.30am. Continue along the chadar to the cave at BakulaBawo. It is believed that the first Bakula Rinpoche of Ladakh spent a week meditating in this cave. A juniper tree above the cave is considered holy to the locals who traverse this gorge. We stop for lunch at Tsemodo for about an hour and continue to camp at Tipkyeak Bawo. The water in this particular section tends to melt more easily and we may at times have to traverse the steep rocks due to the melting ice. If there is no proper campsite, we will go further to camp at Gyalpo(3170m). Over night camping at Tipkyeak Bawo.
Day 5
Day at leisure around After a late breakfast we will start our accent towards the Neyrak village which is about 2 house walk from the camping site .Visit the monastery in the morning and explore the surrounding villages. Overnight camping / Home stay
Day 7
TibbBago -Tilatdo – Chiling – Leh, 7hrs average walking Post breakfast we will start our walk. This day is the last day of the trek on the frozen river. So we will make sure that you enjoy the pristine beauty of the nature properly. Once we reach Tilad do. Our cars will be ready to pick us up and drive back to leh. Overnight hotel at leh.
Day 9
Leh – Delhi In the morning transfer to the airport from where you’ll board the flight to Delhi
Day 2
Leh – Tilatdo (chilling) 2.5 hours’ drive After breakfast we will drive from Leh to chilling tilatdo, once we reach tilatdo we will descend down to the camping site. It will take you about an hour to get used to the "Ladakh Shuffle" of walking on the frozen Zanskar. Boots with "sticky" soles are helpful as well as the walking poles. Today post lunch our tour leader will take you for one hour of walk on the ice to get use to the terrain and ice. Overnight camping.
Day 4
TipkyeakBawo to NyerakPulu (3390m) 6 to 7 hrs of walking This can become a difficult day if the Chadar is not very firm. The scenery though is stunning as we pass incredible frozen waterfalls which look like ice cliffs. If you look closely chances are that you will see blue sheep, Ibex clinging onto the cliffs. Stop for lunch enroute at Yokmado near one of the many caves used by the Zanskaris at night and continue to walk on the Chadar to camp at NyerakPulu. The village is high above the river. (If the Chadar isn’t in good condition, then this walk will take about 6 hrs.
Day 6
Nayrak toTibbBago average walking of 6 hours Today you start the return journey and go back to the Tibb cave. If you thought that it was just a matter of retracing your steps back to Chilling, you can think again. The Zanskar River reacts to the slightest change of temperature, and constantly keeps repackaging itself. Overnight camping/ cave shelter
Day 8
Day at leisure around leh The day can be use to recover from the trek and enjoy the proper shower. In the evening we one can go and visit leh palace and tsomogonpa along with the shopping in the evening. Overnight hotel.
